 NOTICE is hereby given that the Michiana Shores Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a Public Hearing on the 30th day of November 18th, 2021 at 6:30 PM CST in the Michiana Shores Public Meeting Room at 601 El Portal South to consider the Petition of Ryan Hamburger, Pokagon Rental LLC, for a Special Use classification of Single-Family Residential property for the purpose of making it eligible for use as a short-term rental property within the Residential District of the Town of Michiana Shores, Indiana.

  • Legal Description of the subject property:  Lots Seven (7) and Eight (8) in Block Four (4) in Michiana Shores Subdivision No. 6 LaPorte County, Indiana, as recorded in Plat Book 6, Page 68.

General or Common location of the subject property: 211 Pokagon Dr., in Michiana Shores, Indiana, 46360. 

All interested persons will be given the opportunity to be heard and voice an opinion by appearing at the hearing and/or by filing written comment.  Written comment must be signed if submitted during the hearing by a representative or if submitted in advance of the hearing.

The hearing may be continued from time to time as may be found necessary. The petition may be examined in the Office of the Clerk Treasurer at 601 El Portal South during the regular hours the offices are open; Mon., Wed., & Fri., 1:30 to 4:30pm CST.

NOTICE is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Board of Zoning Appeals of the Town of Michiana Shores, Indiana, on the 18th day of November, 2021 at 6:30 PM in the Michiana Shores Public Meeting Room at 601 El Portal South to consider an application/petition of owner Michael Mallaney & Donald Hebel for a variance from development standards to construct an addition with garage/storage in the lower level to an existing single family structure with attached garage constituting an Administrative Appeal which challenges the Plan Commission (acting as Building Inspector/Building Review Committee) determination on November 2nd, 2021.  

The purpose of the application/petition is to obtain authorization to permit an addition with garage/storage area in lower level to the existing residence with a garage, by obtaining relief from Article 2, Chapter 3, Residential District Zoning Regulations of the Town Code and to appeal the determination of non-conformity to the legal description of 66-02-07-355-017 Michiana Shores Sub NO 6 LTS 1-5 & 28-32 Blk 14; the General Location of 3841 Oakdale Dr., Michiana Shores, IN. 46360.
